The Academy at The Georgian Bay Club is widely recognized as a Junior Golf Development Center for young athletes to learn and grow in the game of golf. The athletes coming through the door of The Academy can expect to receive the very best in coaching services, training/competitive opportunities, and peer support as they continue their journey in golf. We place considerable emphasis on “champion traits” in all facets of life and particularly in those that most impact golf development. As such, athletes in our programs receive guidance on themes such as time and self-management, strength and conditioning, sports psychology, nutrition, tactical strategies, and technical development. The coaching staff of The Academy offers tremendous support and guidance for both participating athletes and their families.

Long Term Player Development - The Athlete Pathway

All junior programs organized by The Academy at The Georgian Bay Club align with the Long Term Player Development (LTPD) guide for golf in Canada. Long Term Player Development (LTPD) is a systematic approach aiming to increase the lifelong participation in golf and helping each athlete reach their full potential. The framework defines optimal training, competition and recovery based on principles of growth and maturation.

National Golf in Schools Program
During the school year, The Academy staff at The Georgian Bay Club volunteers at local schools to introduce golf in the community. Our goal is to help grow the game by reaching out to each school in the local area and inspire young people to learn and play golf in their community.

Girls' Club

This community based developmental program runs in conjunction with our GBC Junior League. Designed for girls 6 to 12 years of age, participants will develop the skills, attitudes and positive image to encourage both self esteem and a life long love for the game of golf.

CN Future Links Camps

Active for Life & Developing Competitor Program
These programs have been revised and combined to offer a more flexible schedule and learning opportunity that is specific to each junior athlete. Whether a junior athlete wants to develop their game to the highest level or is just starting their golfing journey, it is important that they all have the following: a golf environment to make friends and have fun, an opportunity to learn about their game (including technique, tactics and mental aptitude on the golf course) and a relationship with a Coach who will support them along their way.
